Receiving Special Students in the PPGCOM/UFC: An Opportunity for Academic Exchange and Research Strengthening
The Postgraduate Programme in Communication (PPGCOM) at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) is open to receiving special students from other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), fostering academic exchange, knowledge sharing, and the strengthening of research networks. This initiative is beneficial both for the programme and for students seeking to broaden their academic horizons. The availability of spots for special students contributes to the strengthening of the research network, internationalisation and visibility, knowledge exchange, academic networking, and the consolidation of partnerships for PPGCOM.
How to Apply as a Special Student in the PPGCOM/UFC?
To apply for courses in the PPGCOM/UFC as a special student, the interested party must meet the following requirements:
Regular Enrolment in a Postgraduate Stricto Sensu Programme: The candidate must be enrolled as a regular student in a postgraduate stricto sensu programme at another Higher Education Institution (HEI), meaning they must be a master’s or doctoral student at another institution; Students whose only connection is as a special stricto sensu student or a lato sensu student at another institution will not be accepted, according to UFC regulations.
Proof of Institutional Affiliation: The student must provide proof of their affiliation with their home institution during the same academic term in which they intend to apply as a special student in the PPGCOM/UFC.
UFC Students: Postgraduate students from other programmes at UFC who wish to take PPGCOM courses should request enrolment directly through the SIGAA academic system, without needing to participate in the special student selection process.
Absence of the “Auditing Student” Category: The UFC does not recognise the category of “auditing student” in its formal regulations. To participate in courses, it is necessary to follow the special student selection process and meet all the requirements outlined in the call for applications.
Compliance with the special student selection call ensures transparency, equity, fairness, and quality in the admission process. The arrival of special students to the PPGCOM/UFC is an opportunity to promote academic exchange, strengthen research networks, and enrich the scientific environment. For students from other institutions, it is a chance to expand their education in a programme recognised for its excellence in Communication.
