Degree in Social Communication at the Federal University of Ceará in 1987, master’s degree in Company Administration at the University of Fortaleza in 2000, and doctoral degree in Communication at the University of Brasília in 2011. Currently associate professor I of the Federal University of Ceará. Background within the field of Communication, with an emphasis on the topics: cities, consumption, advertising, and marketing. Head of the Research Group of Image, Consumption, and Urban Experience in Processes/Products of Communication (GICEU), registered on CNPq’s Directory of Research Groups. Contact: sbelmino@ufc.br



Representative of Line 1 (Photography and Audiovisual Arts): Prof. Dr. Fábio Pezzi Parode

Doctoral degree in Aesthetics at Université de Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne in 2005, master’s degree in Communication Sciences at Unisinos in 2000, specialist degree in Strategic Design at Unisinos in 2008, and degree in Social Communication – Journalism at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1992. Background within the field of Communication, with an emphasis on Aesthetics and Communication, working mainly with the following topics: art, aesthetics and communication, visual communication, and design. Researcher-professor in design, visual arts, and aesthetics, with publications within the fields; research on audiovisual arts, aesthetics, and minority processes. Former editor of the scientific journal Strategic Design Research Journal (www.unisinos.br/sdrj) from 2008 to 2015. Member of CNPq’s research group Contemporary Painting Within its Specific Field, led by Prof. Dr. Icleia Borsa Cattani (UFRGS); member of CNPq’s research group Semiotics and Communication Studies (GPESC), led by Prof. Dr. Alexandre Rocha da Silva (UFRGS); and member of CNPq’s research group Strategic Design for Social and Cultural Innovation, led by Prof. Dr. Ione Bentz. Doctoral degree in Social Communication at the University of Brasília (UnB) in 2018 with a stay at Lisbon University’s Higher Institute of Economics and Management (ISEG), funded by CAPES’ Program of Sandwich Doctorates Abroad (PDSE). Professor of the Social Communication Undergraduate Program – Public Relations and Advertising as well as of the Graduate Program in Communication, both at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). Editor of the journal EPTIC. Coordinator of the Research Lab in Policies, Technology, and Communication Economics (Telas). Researcher of the work group Economía política de la información, la comunicación y la cultura, of Clacso, and of the group Communication, Political Economics, and Society (OBSCOM/CEPOS). Master’s degree in Communication at UFC in 2012. Degree in Social Communication – Journalism in 2009, also at UFC. Member of the Latin Union of Political Economics of Information, Communication, and Culture (ULEPICC Brasil). Main activities in the following topics: Political Economics of Communication; communication policies; technological changes and society; personal data protection; surveillance. Former incumbent of the National Council of Human Rights (CNDH) during the organ’s first administration term (2014-2016). Former journalist of Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (2012-2018).
