Scholar Obligations

Students awarded scholarships have responsibilities that must be rigorously fulfilled to maintain their benefits. The main obligations include:

1. Academic Performance : Achieving a grade equal to or higher than 7.0 and a minimum attendance of 75% in curricular subjects and supervision activities.
2. Semester Reports : Submission of reports required by the funding agencies (CAPES and FUNCAP) and by the Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies (PRPPG).
3. Participation in Events : Annual presentation of work at the University Meetings and participation in the Internal Research Seminar of PPGCOM.
4. Curriculum Updates : Keeping the Lattes curriculum updated and sending all academic production to the programme secretariat for registration in the Institutional Repository and on the Sucupira Platform.

Failure to comply with these obligations will result in the suspension of the scholarship, which will be redirected according to the ranking order of the announcement.

Priority in Scholarship Distribution

The distribution of scholarships follows a priority order established by Normative Instruction AD REFERENDUM 01/CPPG/CEPE/2023 , aiming to assist students in more vulnerable conditions who are exclusively dedicated to postgraduate studies. The priority criteria include:

1. Affirmative Action Policies : Preference for students benefiting from inclusion policies at the time of entry.
2. Socioeconomic Vulnerability : Priority for candidates with a higher degree of socioeconomic vulnerability.
3. Basic Education Professionals : Teachers and other professionals linked to public education networks.
4. Public Servants : Professionals working in municipal, state, or federal public services.
5. Research Correlation : Private sector professionals whose activities are related to the theme of the research being conducted.
6. Lower Monthly Income and Working Hours : Preference for candidates with lower income and fewer working hours.

In case of a tie, the following will be considered respectively: (i) the score obtained in the socioeconomic form; (ii) the length of stay in the programme without a scholarship; and (iii) the candidate’s age.

Annual Review of the Announcement

The PPGCOM Scholarship Committee conducts an annual review of the announcement to incorporate changes resulting from new regulations from the funding agencies, the university, and to meet the internal demands of the programme. This review ensures that the announcement remains aligned with institutional policies and the needs of the programme, promoting a fair and transparent selection process.

Additionally, adjustments can be made to improve the clarity of the rules, expand the inclusion of priority groups, or adapt selection criteria to the specific characteristics of the programme.
